Often, I find myself looking for new places to take a break from the fast-paced life of the city. A place that makes me forget about the whirlwind of crazy work and re-energises and rejuvenates my mind and soul even if that means only for a weekend. Once while doing that, I stumbled upon this beautiful property called Jalsrushti Island Resort and literally, the place is what weekend dreams are made of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the property<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jalsrushti Island Resort is a one of its kind island resort in Pune near Mulshi Dam<\/strong><\/em>, comfortably nestled on the banks of river Mula. To get inside the resort, you need to cross a river on a little plank-style boat provided by the hotel. Once you are inside the resort, you’re cut from all the noises and worries of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the resort, you’d see manicured gardens, sounds of birds, a pond with ducks and a cute little bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resort has only 14 rooms<\/em><\/strong> and is divided into two kinds<\/strong><\/em>. One is Jalpushp<\/em><\/strong>, which are elevated cottages with big glass windows overlooking the river.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another one is Jalaka<\/em><\/strong>, which are on the ground level facing the pond<\/em><\/strong> or the garden<\/em><\/strong> and have a little balcony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Jalpushp and Jalaka have spacious rooms and have beautiful wooden interiors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What to do<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The resort offers a plethora of activities like riding a tractor or bicycle<\/em><\/strong> or paying a visit to the organic farm<\/em><\/strong> or swimming<\/em><\/strong> in the pool. The resort has a little machan <\/em><\/strong>where you can climb up and observe the beautiful views of the river and do bird watching<\/em><\/strong>.  Furthermore, one can also play indoor games<\/em><\/strong> like chess, table tennis, carrom board and board games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the weekends there are karaoke nights<\/em><\/strong>, and the resort also has bonfire facilities.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The resort has a multi-cuisine restaurant<\/em><\/strong>. The food served here is organic<\/em><\/strong>. All the veggies and herbs are sourced from their own farms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resort can also arrange a candlelight dinner<\/em><\/strong> on request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This resort is on the higher side of the budget. It cost 11000+ <\/em><\/strong>depending on the room and the day you go.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The package includes lunch evening high tea, dinner & breakfast.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to reach<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jalsrushti I<\/em>sland Resort is 162 km from Mumbai<\/em><\/strong> and takes around 4 hours <\/em><\/strong>and from Pune<\/em><\/strong> its only 37 km<\/strong> and takes about 1 hour.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best time to go<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Best time to go here is from October to February<\/em><\/strong> when the weather is pleasant and cosy. Summer months can be harsh, and in the monsoons, the resort is closed.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This place is best for families, couples or friends<\/em><\/strong> who want to have a little fun time away from the cities amidst peace and tranquillity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
